Human remains discovered in Wahconah Park identified

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- Human remains that were discovered on October 10 in Wahconah Park have been identified. Pittsfield Police say the remains are that of 43-year-old Luis Lopez-Lopez. At the time of the discovery, the Pittsfield Police Department said the remains were in an advanced form of decomposition. A manner of death has still not been determined. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (NEWS10) -- The Berkshire South Regional Community Center in Great Barrington will be presenting their eighth annual Arts and Crafts Festival. The festival will feature more than 25 Berkshire-based vendors, offering creative creations ranging from paintings and jewelry to handmade instruments and clothing. The community center will also host multiple food trucks, as well as live music by The Midnight Anthem. ST. LOUIS - A couple woke up to a gunman in their bedroom. A man in bed allegedly pulled a gun on the suspect, killing him. He is claiming self-defense in the shooting.Police got the call to the 4400 block of San Francisco Avenue just after 1:00 a.m. The scene was just north of Natural Bridge in the Penrose neighborhood of north St. Louis.The victims were asleep when they woke up to a 37-year-old man standing over them. He was pointing a gun at the 37-year-old man in bed. He was able to pull a gun on the suspect, shooting and killing him. Authorities added that the suspect was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The alleged shooter remained at the scene, according to investigators, and then police detained him. ST. LOUIS -- One St. Louis grandmother is making a difference in teens' lives, one breakfast plate at a time. Dozens of Bishop DuBourg high school students shuffle through her doors and into her kitchen on Wednesday mornings for breakfast club. They call her "Grandma Peggy."Peggy Winckowski's grandson, Sam Crowe, started the Wednesday Breakfast Club, and it continues in his honor. Crowe died in an accident at the end of July 2022.
